'There is no solution because there is no problem' is a short run of Fringe events to coincide with Art Sheffield 2010 Life: A Users Manual. Exhibiting artworks in unlikely spaces, the project aims to deliver a challenging and exciting alternative to the main curated events - showcasing work by contemporary artists from within and outside of Sheffield.
As part of the programme Unit 3b Artspace will be welcoming Danish artist Thorbjorn Andersen, who will be presenting a new body of work in the project space. http://www.thorbjornandersen.com/
As part of the programme there will also be a group show held at 18 The Moor and an evening of artists' film and sound on Saturday 13th March. Please check the website for further information: http://thereisnosolution.tumblr.com/
Art Sheffield Fringe 2010 6th - 13th March, Thurs - Sat 12 - 6pm
For its latest exhibition Unit 3b will be handing over their project space to Nottingham based artist Andy Brookefield. Andy will be occupying Unit 3b for a period of five days, in which he will undergo a series of spatial investigations into light and perception. On the final day, Unit 3b will host an opening/closing night that will present a final fragment of this process.
Andy Brookefield graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 2008. He is currently co-director of Backlit Gallery, Nottingham.
Unit 3b Artspace is an artist run studio/gallery space situated in Sheffield city centre, focused on providing a contemporary program of exhibitions, film screenings and art events by both established artists and emerging talent alike. Concealed within a renovated industrial lot, its inconspicuous surroundings disguise this unique exhibition space.
